What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movement performed at a relative high intensity. The training methodology combines Olympic weight lifting, gymnastics, plyometrics, running and rowing while varying intensity and workload. The movement patterns we do in the gym replicate the ones you do in real life. Every class is led by passionate and knowledgeable coaches who are dedicated to your success. Your goals are ours.
What is a class like at 1Force?
Exactly one hour, start to finish. We start with a warm up, we move into strength training and then we get our heart rates high. Time of each portion will vary from day to day, but the class will always be an hour. Each CrossFit class of the day will be exactly the same, if you come at 6am or 8:30pm. No two days are ever the same.
Do I have to be fit to CrossFit?
No. Every workout can be scaled and adapted to wherever you are today. As your fitness level increases, so will the tasks in your workouts. No one ever says, “I”m glad I waited to start.” Take their word for it.
How fast will I see results?
If you come to class 4-5 times a week, have solid nutrition and proper rest, you will see results FAST. The entire coaching staff is dedicated to helping you reach your goals.
I’ve had an injury. Can I still CrossFit?
Absolutely. Our knowledgeable staff can help you train around your injury. We have athletes who never run or jump and they still CrossFit. We have members with “bad backs” who still deadlift light weight. We will work with the recommendations of your medical professionals and help you focus on the things you CAN do, not the things you can’t.
Is CrossFit just for young people?
Our members are age 5 through 66. It’s never too late to start. Until it is.
I saw the CrossFit GAMES and I’ll never be able to do the things those people are doing!
Most of us won’t either, and we still love CrossFit. Elite athletes are a very small percentage of the CrossFit population. Most are real people just trying to find the strongest, fittest fastest versions of themselves.
How do I use Kid Care?
Simply sign in two hours before the session starts in Wodify. Specific times are also available upon request with the Kid Care staff.
Why is CrossFit so expensive?
Think of CrossFit as personal training, TEAM style. Each week you will receive personalized training, coaching and motivation for 4-5 hours a week alongside other members of your team. Compare that to working with a personal trainer at a high hourly rate, and CrossFit is actually very affordable. We don’t want to tell you, we want to show you! Can I be late for class?
We ask everyone to be on time for class as much as humanly possible and here’s why. Each hour is led by a skilled coach. It’s their job to get 10-25 people warmed up and safely through all of the assigned tasks in one hour. If you come in 20 minutes late, you are not receiving a proper warm up and could miss important parts of the instruction. Your coach will be worried about your safety because they know keeping you healthy is (in part) their responsibility. We understand traffic happens, and once you are a seasoned vet you will be able to warm yourself up without missing a beat should you be a few minutes behind on occasion.
Can I drop in or bring a friend?
Sure! We love meeting new friends. We have a drop in fee of $20 for out of town CrossFitters. Local friends interested in joining are always welcome to a free week trial. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign a waiver and get an introduction to our box.
Why do you call your gym a box?
We call our gym a box to set it apart from your run-of-the-mill fitness center. We are different. Our gym is an massive empty warehouse shaped much like a box. It is full of awesome equipment, but rest assured even if it was empty, you would still get a great workout. The activities we do in the box will make you feel like you are back on the playground at recess. Fitness should be fun. If it’s not, you won’t want to do it!
